Daf cf night heaters

is there some magic button you press to get them working again or is it just down to crappy electrics on the dafs…

On the dash board, left of the hand brake.

got the controls on and it was working, now its trying to start but not knocking out any heat, glow plugs i think

heck behind the drivers seat that the air intake isnt covered ,if it is ,clear it switch it off for a bit(30mins) then turn it back on

It may have be something to do with the timer button if a driver fiddles with it and trying to over ride the start and stop times to run the night heater.

Which suggests that DAF CF nightheaters aren’t straightforward to understand, use or otherwise get benefit from when it’s needed.

Meanwhile (and amonst other causes too) our pay has eroded on the assumed condition that equipment is a doddle to use

they are ■■■■ easy to sort, assuming its the same one as the xf (which it ought to be), pop the ring off the air intake end and the cover should then unclip, once you have the cover offyou’ll see the glow plug location, to unplug it you will need to lift out the yellow control unit which is held in by a couple of torx screws if memory servs, now, there probably nothing wrong with the glow plug itself, all its likely to have done is dropped some scale off itself and blocked the air hole in the bottom of the chamber - shine a torch in and you’ll see, just make sure the chamber is clear and you can see the small hole in the bottom, glow plugs are in the region of 90 quid from daf, as i found out … and then went on to learn the above

So that’s a working break costing an infringement and £90 :open_mouth:
