Daf 105 xf transmission warning

Hi got a xf 105 ssc with as tronic only had it couple of days this morning come up on dash after 10 mins driving full load on, transmission warning in Amber stayed on all the way till delivery with no problems in gear change, and after turning off and restarting when leaving did not come back on all day is this a common thing or some sort of problem ?
Thanks in advance for replys

It’s a Daf mate. They specialise in spurious dash warnings. A little tip if I may though is when stuck in stop start traffic try to knock into neutral when you stop. Holding it (or any auto for that matter) on the brake and in gear soon heats the clutch up.

Thanks maoster, I did wounded if it was one of those, I’ve come from a Renault premium so used to warnings a peering on the dash all day lol, yer I will remember to do that.

Transmission warning and coolant level low are regular warnings on my daf

This happened on mine twice, first time turned it off and then couldn’t get gears, got towed in to daf and got it repaired.
Next day it came on going up to glasgow I carried on till I reaced the drop then same again couldn’t get gears.
It turned out to be a bare wire running along the chassis,
The daf fitter did say though that once it starts flashing up it may go off but eventually you will lose gears.

AsTronic faults can be a nightmare …The boosters are prone to failing…The low coolant is standard spec ,.tip when topping up the coolant dump the air from the suspension ,even better if your on a slope ,as you will get some more coolant in and the warning be less prevelant …I wont say it won’t come on …I aint that brave

Thanks for all the info the transmission warning not been again yet, but did have the coolant one, will drop the suspension in morning and top it up.

Common problem with DAFs. Usually clears but it can cause a problem when it sits flashing N and wont select a gear. Technology showing its value :unamused:

Personally all this technology I would say has made vehicles less reliable, with their spurious warning etc at least in days gone by ,if you lost your throttle ,it was usually a mechanical failure which was obvious to the eye …Where as today by the time it gets to a workshop it has sorted itself, only to reoccur a day later ,and so it goes on
