Any tips would be welcome, I have to sit one tomorrow and don,t have the disc to revise with. I took one about a year ago, has it changed since then? any help would be welcome, I need to score 85% or above.

I assume you mean the LGV theory test… and you failed the one last year ■■?
Are you taking both of the tests below or just one■■?
Module 1a theory questions - multiple choice
Module 1b HPT

Sorry to be a bit vague, I have to sit one as part of a driving assessment not for the L.G.V test, I’m sure the last one I took on a P.C, also for an assessment was the DSA test it contained a 100 multiple choice questions which I passed, I just wondered if it has changed recently.

Yep started in 89’, but have taken this test as part of an assessment as an agency driver in march 09’ and I’m sure it was a D.S.A test, I have to take it again for the same company again tomorrow.
Thanks mate - I was wondering why you needed to do a DSA theory test when you already said you had a LGV licence pass at age 21.
The DSA LGV theory is still basically the same as when you last did it.
I assume you get the LGV theory test and not the car theory test - I know some agencies are a little confused when it comes to this sort of thing ■■?
I find this a little unusual as the most I was ever asked to do for an agency theory test was basic questions on the Highway Code and some basic questions on drivers hours…

The client provided the induction to all agency drivers which included the theory test (truck) and a store delivery with an assessor. I scored quite well on the theory test I was a little worried as I heard it had changed recently. If, as you say it has not changed a lot I should be o.k. I will let you know how I score. Many thanks mike
Tesco, for example, now use the DSA theory test as part of their assessment of agency drivers.
100 questions with 1 hour to complete, 85 needed to pass.

The changes you have heard about are for the initial driver cpc which has a seperate theory test
The only change to the basic multiple choice theory (not HPT) was that the number of questions increased but not the content of those questions. Those changes came in well over a year ago
All of the above.
All the more reasons why the industry will not attract new blood.
You obtain the correct license to do the job and have to jump through hoops and rings of fire to do that nowdays, you then apply for a job and have to sit another load of questions all along the lines of what you did to get the ticket, jeeeeeez - what a load of old crap eh?
No wonder the transport industry is in the mess it is, if they got rid of all the unnecessary people in the chain there would be another half million on the dole.
That’s it - rant over
I did a couple of stints with agencies years ago, and all the girl asked me was ‘can you drive a crash box?’ I looked her straight in the eye and said, ‘but they’re all crash boxes aren’t they?’
B/S your way in then.

Thanks, after staying up till 1am revising, the assessor contacted the D.C where I had carried out the earlier test to confirm my score and I was not required to sit it again.

Your original post was in the PDF but a mod/admin moved it to this forum - they probably thought it was to do with the LGV aquisition theory test as I did when it was first posted

Thanks, I passed the driving assessment today after the initial induction on Tuesday and start my first shift behind the wheel tomorrow at 20.00. After 1 year and 4 months of looking I am very happy.
