Czech Trip

Hi all,

Had to go to Czech last week for a “repat” at Olomouc 3.5 hours East of Prague.
First time in Czech so had to buy truck tax for first time at border.
Thought you might like to know proceedure as it took a bit of guesswork. Ignore the vignette signs as that applies to cars. At the main building you take your registration documents and method of payment (DKV) to the window. Fill in the form and purchase a “Go” box as per Austria (15,500 Crowns deposit - on DKV). Whats different in Czech is you "charge"the box as you go (they give you a map) so easiest method is tell them destination and that you are returning too and they credit that amount on the box.

im sure you should be able to get a post payed box, sure mine is(?)

ossie:
…15,500 Crowns deposit…

:open_mouth: did they put the prices up so massively■■? or is it just a typo?
the deposit is 1550CZK (~60euro)

yes, you can get a post pay go-box but for that you need bank guarantee and that depends on number of vehicles, pay period, estimated mileage etc. so unless you run few lorries there regularly there is little point.

ooops typo! the deposit is 1550CZK (~60euro)
