Cyclist with a grudge

90% of cyclists own cars, are you saying all HGV drivers are perfect? As an HGV/Driving instructor/cpc blah blah blah holder and a keen cyclist 100 miles a week, I see plenty of idiots in all forms of transport acting the goat. Its a human condition, common sense cant be taught. Some HGV drivers could do with half an hour a day on a bike, do em the world of good![/quote]
as an HGV instructor , would you ride your bike up the inside of a truck when it may be turning? would you stop in the truck’s blind spot? cyclists need to be educated about this,
no truck driver runs over a cyclist on purpose!

No and no.
If i need to get past a truck, i will go past on the right, but often i might not pass it, if further up the road i know its going to be hard for him to pass me again.
I stop behind the truck and to the right so i can see the right mirror.
Are yu trying to say that every cyclist does this?
I know that other cyclists will go on the left.
I had a spoke car with the picture of a lorry on from the right with “right side” on the right side, and “suicide” on the left side.
On a bike forum im on, they are trying to make an advert which shows the dangers, and other bike forums are trying to do the same.
Now, if these are going to get the press they need, and actually be put on, who knows, but if it does stop some people from going down the left of a truck and getting killed, then it must be worth it?
The cycle forum im on were looking for a lorry to borrow to make the advert/film thing, but i think they are using a driver on there.
Another cycle forum based in London are also doing about the same, and i think they were having stickers made and spoke cards which said about the left side being dangerous.
There re attempts at things to be done, but the person that goes on their bike, wont go down the right and scoots down the left, even when there is no room, often wont be looking on the internet and often dont pay attention, or think about the dangers of going down the left.

Boris had an idea about fitting mirrors to traffic lights ,with those in place drivers could see down the left side of there vehicles.no doubt the kamikaze s would find other ways of killing themselves.

In town/city centres they could have a double use - for those on a night out who cannot find a mirror to check their hair/make -up etc…

This looks interesting…
