Cyclist / Lorry Awareness

Took one of my trucks out and did a Cycling / Lorry Awareness Session with the kids at my local primary school (and a few parents)… purple crates are in the driver’s blind spots. There’s more down the n/s as well but were hard to position bang on as teachers’ cars in the way, and some more further to the o/s as well out of shot.

Some good education for the kids, and a bit of fun climbing in the cab!!!

Nice one!

I bet the kids loved that, and you had fun cleaning up all the sticky finger marks!

Strange (to me) ramp on the back of that trailer, does it have a special name or something? (I know nothing…)

fun cleaning up all the sticky finger marks!

She got a mini valet from local firm!!

Don’t know if the ramp has a certain name etc

The training company I worked for in the early nineties did much the same thing. The kids loved it and hopefully learned something.
I remember one young lad about 8 years old asking me…hey Mister how do you hot wire one of these!

Well done mate.
Nothing better than educating the kids of the dangers of these beautiful beasts. And u do have a beautiful beast might i add

well done, hope other school would follow

Hopefully more do this as getting them to learn about safety around trucks when they are young will fingers crossed help later in life.

I tried doing this in the Oldham area about 8 years ago - local Council wouldn’t allow it due to health & safety

Excellent work mate.

It’s a shame more company’s don’t allow there vehicles to be used in the same way.
Plus it wouldn’t harm the local councils to agree to it could save lives by educating the kids and perents.

Health and Safety when no other excuse for idleness will work. :imp:

Good one Herongate, obviously somebody at your local school could be bothered to do a risk assessment and great idea using the boxes.

Lol typical. Dont show kids about safety due to health and safety.
