Yet again, another cyclist riding like an idiot, trying to do car speeds but for pushbike costs, who expects other roadusers to do his thinking for him.
Obviously it is you who is the idiot.
Actually no, he’s right. If the muppet couldn’t stop a pushbike in that gap he was either riding at Tour De France pace, or seriously not paying attention. Good money says he had headphones in…
Wonder how it would have panned out if this rider who couln’t stop in this distance had hit a pedestrian? I suppose in the time old tradition of denial it would be the pedestrians fault…somehow?

You really cant attribute blame to a hypothetical accident with no details, if the pedestrian had stepped out it would have been the pedestrians fault
As above at 20mph, whitch is not that fast on a bike 10 meters or 30 feet is just over a second, you couldnt stop any sort of vehicle in that distance, is it is the fault of who ever took it upon them selves to fill the gap infront of the bike

How do you figure that one out? bikes have simlar breaking distances to cars if not slightly further in wet or slippery conditions, you cant stop any vehicle from 20mph in less then a second
The fact is a car pulled out in front of another road user and caused a collision which resulted in injury.
Had it been something bigger than a bike, then the idea of leaving the scene wouldn’t have been an option due to the damage and possible injuries the car driver sustained.
I sincerely hope the driver is traced and prosecuted with at least driving without due care and attention!
Oh and just to add another possibility, the driver may well have been uninsured,so any future claim for injury would be practically impossible.

I think peoples responses on here are disgusting.
It was a cycle this time with an adult on, might be a motorbike next time or a cycle with a child on.
Should not leave the scene of an accident and shouldn’t pull out infront of any vehicle, even a cyclist.
Yes you should be able to stop should anything happen, but let’s face it, we’d all be moving at walking pace, you have to be able to make certain assumptions or the country would grind to a halt.
And when people do make off they have something to hide. Hope you find him

+1 have to agree lets all blame everyone but the cyclist what a load of bs

I hope your friends " son " had front and rear lights on hexholme! as he had third party insurance, did he have a complex? Accidents happen, that’s life! " A N OTHER ROAD USER LOSES FIVE TEETH! " hope he enjoys Christmas dinner through a straw! as the saying goes " ride like a cnunt, die like a cnunt! " count his lucky stars! Merry Xmas and a happy new year!
Regardless who is at fault or how an incident happened to leave the scene of an accident is unacceptable end of!! Even more so that someone is injured, another uninsured driver most likely.

At 20 mph 30 feet is fractionally over one second! we all know there are a lot of suicidal cyclists around, but we can’t tar them all with the same brush or we are no better than the anti-truck brigade! to drive off after such a collision is the lowest of the low.
I’ve not checked your calculations as it’s xmas day and my maths is a little worse for wear, but if your maths is correct, then even at 10mph - a bloody slow - below average cycling speed for even a fat trucker like me - is only 2 seconds from the guy pulling out to collision.
Anyone who’s saying the cyclist is riding like a ■■■■ is a complete ■■■■■■’ imbosile. It’d probably take you 2 seconds to stop walking never mind a pushbike on wheels with momentum etc.n
As others have said, the accident is an accident, leaving the scene of any accident is unforgiveable, especially leaving someone on the floor bleeding

Of course, a cyclist can never be wrong. It’s all the big bad car drivers fault.
Well it never takes too long for the anti cyclist tools to raise their thick heads does it. Regardless of what happened, I don’t know I wasn’t there, the chap has only come on to try and help, the fact that it happened to a cyclist is irrelevant. The driver leaving the scene of an accident is happening more often these days. I take you would think that the woman hit while standing at a bus stop was asking to be hit? That driver took off as well.
Car driver was probably going home from the office party or similar, that’s why he took off.
Hope he/she is found and done for leaving the scene at least.
Hope also the cyclist manages to have a reasonable Chrimbo minus a few teeth and that dix don’t keep going up to him and singing “AlI want for Christmas is my two front teeth”
Just to thank all the moronic idiots who can only spout foul abuse at other peoples misery. It raises the profile of my appeal
To reiterate, we are very happy for others to judge who was to blame for this accident (though preferably someone with actual evidence). We would just like to exchange insurance details with the driver who left a boy lying in the road. Fortunately in this instance it wasn’t as tragic as the Spalding hit and run where the man was left to die in a ditch.
Can’t believe some of the comments on here ! I see plenty of bikes being ridden by complete ■■■■■■ but that doesn’t mean it’s automatically this boys fault. Kid riding along an A road, speed irrelevant, car driver pulls out, injures the kid then ■■■■■ off = a real a******e in my book. I just hope that next time he does that, it’s in front of something big and heavy.
I went over the handlebars and knocked my two front teeth out (well snapped them off just above the gum line) when I was a kid, single vehicle accident caused by going beyond the line of bravery and over the line marked stupidity
This was about 35yrs ago and I’m still paying bloody dental bills now as the replacement crowns come loose every now and then, I’m well over 3grand out of pocket now, probably double that and I’ve had numerous abcesses because of it and those ■■■■■■■■ hurt…a lot
Regardless of who was at fault, you should never leave the scene of an accident, never, let alone when there’s someone who is obviously injured
No one actually knows if the cyclist was riding like a prat… I should think the car driver panicked because as is always the case the cyclist is the victim and never at fault .
Just thought i would put in this blog. I may give some of you an idea of what its like to be a cyclist on todays roads, what with us constantly getting away with things and never being blamed for accidents etc. invisiblevisibleman.blogspot.com … cking.html
