Curtainside trailer pillars..

hi chaps… i am new to curtainside trailers and i need opinion from others. what is maximum width between support pillars? is there any way for widening distans between them to easly accomodate 2600mm rigid load(no way of squashing it) any advice much appreciated.

There will be variation between makes, but remember the max vehicle width (C & U regs) is 2.55m overall so you wont get 2.6m inside any normal vehicle.
That load would be within legal overhang on a flat if you can sheet it?
Slide the side posts out of the way to let it bulge into the sheets? That would probably be against makers specs, as there would be insufficient support for the roof, and tightening the side sheets would pull the roof down with nowt to support it.

What is the load? If a crate, flat trailer and sheet it is the answer. If summat else maybe someone else will know a way?
