Curriculum Vitae / CV / Resume

Another random topic from yours truly. OK not so random…

So after spending 9 years with the company I work in telecoms for at the moment I have decided to move on. A tough decision however one that needed to be made as opposed to sitting pondering about it.

Anyway, Im sure you all have CV’s and CV’s are always required when applying for a job be it a truckers or any other job.

Question is this… have you ever or would you have your CV re-written for you by a so called “professional”. If yes, why? if no, why?

Im contemplating getting this done, but seen mixed reviews. Free CV reviews are very general which is understandable. But surely you know yourself best so best person to sell yourself on paper is no one but you? or is it better to pay for someone to highlight your good points on paper?

Plenty of free templates available on the net mate, do it yourself and make yourself sound s**t hot, even lie a little

When I was a manager I never even looked at CV’s only at the application form, which even stated on it, NO CV’s to be attached

Only problem with a little lie is that…if they follow up on any statements… youre ■■■■■■ lol

One thing I would say is get somebody to check the spelling and grammar - nothing puts off a potential employer more than glaring spelling mistakes (assuming they know how to spell anyway!)
