Jesus wept, not surprising its advertised constantly, the crew of nutters who did it last are probably all laid out side by side, labelled in stock rotation format, on slabs in the local mortuary.
Thats not a job its a bloody sentence from a hanging judge in a vile mood having just discovered his mrs has been having it off with the bin man…
I am retired now, but I would not have touched it with the proverbial barge pole even when hard up, but somebody must do it, I just wondered if anybody on here had, it says in the advert “minimal turnaround time” what does that mean in reality?, And how much is the weekly earnings?. its £16 per hour on a weekend and you if do 20 hours that £320 + one more in the week at £13 =£260 a total for 40 hours or two shifts of £580 but can you do more,? how do you work it with the tacho?. do you get paid ALL hours or just your driving hours?.
I wonder if their idea of “minimal handball” is the same as mine. I doubt it somehow!
Talking to 2 sports direct drivers in Plymouth few weeks back if its minimal handball they didn’t get the memo shifting cages across a car park didn’t look fun then the drive back to shire brook getting back just after midnight err no ta

I’d say lumping cages about doesn’t constitute handball. Handball to me is moving loose goods. If it’s paid all hours, I’d give it a go on those rates if I was local. What’s the worst it’s going to be? A ten hour drive and 4-5 drops with a second man. As long as you get on with the other bloke, there’s worse jobs out there
Ian58:
Shirebrook, double manning ; sounds like it’s Sports Direct.
Spot on methinks, most very likely but I suppose it can be good for new passes to get some experience, although I think they mainly run wagon and drags.

I reckon so, the place they describe as a modern day Victorian Workhouse.
Great quote about Victorian workhouses! MP’s tend to forget that they set the rules and allow this kind of crap to happen then feign shock and disgust when it does!
Then of course the ‘electorate’ forget who gave the said MP’s their mandate…
Devils in the detail. It says up to 20 hours per shift - well is it usually 19 and never less than 18? Or is it more like 14-15 hours, of which you are driving for about 6 per driver?
In theory I could do a job advert that said up to 20 hours, but it happens about twice a year and some days it’s less than 8 hours.
I would agree … sounds like Sports Direct. I was listening to Radio 5 t’other week about the warehouse staff having to “clock-off” then wait to be searched … have to strip to under-pants and get searched … wonder if the drivers have this … and also not get paid, as you have "clocked-off ?
Along with the finger-print powered clocking-in machine, they sound a right bundle of laughs to work for Apparently, if you’re a minute late, you’re docked 15 minutes pay. And if they can’t afford cleaners, you mop out your own area at the end of the day before being “allowed” to go home.
Young person, interviewed on radio, can’t remember which, could have been Radio 4. They specialise in employing young people, especially 16 to 20 yr olds, as they have no life experience. I was treated better on the farm I worked on from the age of 14.
Sports Direct via Agency, 20 hours is about right. My mate who worked a few shifts for them kept getting messed around with his shifts so binned them off.
Definitely sports direct I did 2 shifts for them though an agency. I’m not scared of long hours but Christ almighty that took the ■■■■ especially if you consider I had to drive from Loughborough to get there, I honestly don’t know how I got home after the second shift. The agency told me it would be a maximum of 13 hour shift! Safe to say I will never make that mistake again!!!
