Cumbria police

Don’t know if it’s old news? But ■■■■■■■ police have got their own Hgv patrolling the a66, from penrith to the ■■■■■■■ boundary top of stainmore. Just been reading it on the news and star web page.

I think most of know the cops have this sort of thing and to be honest it makes no difference to those driving safely and legally

And humberside and Durham and Cleveland north Yorkshire west Yorkshire south Yorkshire

And in other news, fire brigades have trucks too…

i wonder if its got a calibrated speedo as the traffic cars, radioing ahead and getting pulled in is the only way there going to be catching anyone running normally? i had the stranraer c.o.p in private car follow me for an hour and a half before he got me pulled in at dumfries by the marked car as i had overtaken him at 62mph,only slowing down for the roundabouts( this was 1 am on a sunday morn, empty road). the trace showed 56…they wrongly confiscated my disc, youl be hearing more about this etc, blablabla…i was doing 40 when i saw the traffic car,and end of story, you cant get done as to whats on your trace… i do 62,and show 56,the inspector got told to sod off,and he got laughed out of the cab, anyone know if the plodtrucks have the calibrated speedo? ive never been stopped by one,as its not likely id be getting overtaken on a motorway etc,

They don’t pull you for speeding there are two cops one driving one passenger they film you with a camcorder Eating drinking using phone or adjusting sat nav ect

I don’t know if they were trying to salvage some Trucker/Police PR on the telly last night, but they were talking along the lines of also targeting car drivers that showed disregard to HGVs by cut ups and cutting in on overtaking. etc., whether I believe that or not, I’m not convinced.
Just for the record it’s a new type Volvo with a low cab, so keep your eyes peeled and don’t forget to offer them a coffee in the way of a shake, as they point their camera along side you to display your opinion of the ■■■■■■■■ s.

Someone on my facebook had a couple of pictures up and a reg of v888vtc.

They also said it had been seen on the M74 too.

just buy a volvo v8 900, they do 56mph, they will easily outrun a police scania 400 with a top speed of 56mph… oh hang on :unamused:

Going by the reg, yes. Photos were of it out on the road .

Just waiting for one to spin in bad weather. At least it will be caught on camera. Maybe even a sound recording of the piggy in the passenger seat squealing as it goes off the road :smiling_imp:

Yep, boss saw it round the back of Durran Hill last week (we deliver into there 5 days a week), didn’t know it was a new FH though. I’m waiting for one of these cops to crash one too, hopefully the incoming winter will show some of the handling traits of a bobtailed unit.
