Two old photo,s of ■■■■■■■ Timber merchant Barkers Lindale Crosdales Greenodd

The other Barkers you mentioned are at BackBarrow fenceing panels and tantalised
Wood. The pole wagon of Barkers is probably the one Bewick mentioned
The fuel merchant from Barrow was Eddie Holmes

Two great shots there Frank,a work weary Beaver ? of Barkers and IIRC a new Leyland Comet of Croasdales that was used by Leyland for their publicity.Cheers Dennis.

I’ve had a few days down there me’self,I remember on night as we’d got the last load on there was another Ship across the dock,City of Glasgow,I think. You could hear the Filipino crew jabbering away,so Willie Dixon says,“watch this” %^&*!!?@@ he bellowed, next thing theres all hell breaking loose and these figures are off the ship and running round the dock screaming,we piles into the old Comet with about 30 ton of pulp on and did it just leap up and down trying to set off,but we made it away, just !! Otherwise we’d have been floating “face down” in the Dock, there was too many of them, even for Willie and me eh! Happy Days,Dennis.

Just a question Frank, was the 99 Club anything to do with Sammy Morgan ? Cheers Dennis.

Hi Dennis,
As my missus is a Barrovian , she thinks that Sammy Morgan might have started the 99 Club.
Any more questions about Barrow, please ?
Cheers, cattle wagon man.
