Yes jeh, this is the wagon we have been discussing. I bet it rolled terribly on corners. This photo looks like the time I saw it on display at the Royal Show, A livestock haulier friend and myself who were attending the show with a Leyland Beaver bringing ■■■■■■■■ fell ponies for exhibition had a good look at the wagon including a sit in the drivers seat. This is the only Mk V AEC I have ever been in.
Cheers Leyland 600

Hiya L600,would the Fell ponies have belonged to ■■■■ Little of The Guards farm ■■ I can’t think for the life of me who the Beaver belonged to or who the driver could have possibly been !!! I’ll keep my thinking cap on,any clues you can give me? !!! Cheers Bewick.

Hi Bewick, Aye they were Johnny Little,s ponies and the Beaver driver wasn,t very pleased at all (as you can imagine) when yan kicked a board out of the side of the container before we got to the top of the Went. After getting the ponies deposited in their pens at ther show we cleaned out the container and slept there for two nights. Son- ■■■■ lives next door to my sister about not far from my home.
Happy memories.

This motor would have been better for you two to carry the Fell Ponies eh! Lined with ply board and configured in two ways if required, either 4 enclosed standings facing forward with a gangway down the middle or 6 in herring bone formation.Plus you could have “tossed a coin” for who got the sleeper cab and who kipped in the luton!!!Not,of course, with the 'hosses on board at the same time,I could never understand these “horsey” people cracking on about their living accomodation in their fancy boxes,it’s the last spot I’d want to kip with horses next door panching and ■■■■■■■ all night !!!Cheers Dennis.

on my way to penny hill farm, boot, eskdale

I started work for David hope just After passing my test after a big argument with clampet lawson a was leaning the ropes on the steel works I was given a fridge and told to go to Troon to meet a trawler green as grass.
