Yeah Chris i was at Sams on the monday of the week he sold out,he told me he was’nt selling but knowing Sam he said every things for sale at the right price!. By the friday he had sold up , maybe also had some thing to do with Hartley Quarry closing down, mind you he was turned 70,yes Dennis it would be about 2 years back,Vic.
Another old name gone then,shame.It’s just that I saw one of their powder tankers on t’M6 last week,Turners unit but I’m sure the tank was in Ostle livery,can’t be certain though.

I can liken this fashion with all the lights to a similar sort of thing which was prevalent a number of years ago.You used to see blokes with great bunches of keys clipped on their belt,what they were all used for we’ll never know! But I always maintained that “the bigger the bunch” “the smaller the brain” and in the main I don’t think I was far wrong!! More lights---------- Bewick.

Some used to bolt wheeltrims or hubcaps to the grille of their lorry,couldn’t see the point in that either.
