Bewick:
Well “George” youv’e berated me for running British built motors when I should have been operating the Swedish marques sooner and up you pop and start praising Jed’s outfit for running Maggie D’s!!! Hey marrer! talk about double standards!! Obviously Jed made a very big impression on you as a youngster where did uncle “H” go wrong? Not only did Lawsons run Maggies but(pause while I roll on the floor laughing)but they were “dealers” as well.(As I wipe the tears away) I wonder where they were on the sales penertration list in ■■■■■■■■ I wonder if George Graham lost any sleep about the two sales he probably lost because Jed had to run the only two Maggies he probably “sold”!!! Maggie D’s must rank as one THE WORST trucks to appear in the UK in the 70’s Bar None! I can honestly say that other than the Scania 80 we ran at Bewick Transport we never had a bad motor but they sure were miles better than a Maggie! I wonder why you didn’t/couldn’t persuade uncle “H” to chance his arm with a Maggie D? surerley if a premier outfit like Jeds was promoting Maggies the other hauliers in West ■■■■■■■ must have been sorely tempted to follow suit so why wasn’t the county overun with Maggies like it was with Scania’s and Volvo’s? Probably the dealer wasn’t up to much maybe, who knows, the product certainly wasn’t!! with aching sides! Cheers Dennis.

Eddie Stobart bought one off them, in fact Eddie Stobart even bought the old depot off them in Carlisle.

Come on “Geroge” Eddie probably found that one in the back of the building when he took possession! unless, of course,Jed left it there as Eddies “luck money” in good old ■■■■■■■■ farming fashion!!!Dennis.
