This is another load of Wuk’ington Pig which IIRC was on it’s way to Midland Rollers at Crewe, and it was unloaded there by one of the best crane drivers you could ever find, no dropping the ■■■■■■■ magnet down like a bomb and breaking the floor boards, gentle as you like and when the load was off he swept the magnet across the flat to pick up the bits which was a great help when the trailer was going to be loaded with woodpulp at Ellesmere ! Cheers Bewick.
Continuing with “The Pig iron” theme this is a shot of a load of W’ton Pig on a K.Fell trailer coupled to a Bewick 111 bound for the Ford Foundry in Dagenham, a job which we did regularly, usually it was 40 ton lots N.B. covered with old redundant sheets

My latest purchase got it on Thursday
Nice looking bit of gear there “hodgeturbo” I hope it does well for you, Regards Larry.
Hi Hodge I saw your new 17 reg motor sneaking down through Wigton one day last week were you working on Syke Rd to Street Road Ends resurfacing? Just like all the many East Europeans on their way to Innovia that ignore the 6ft 6in limit. “You no speak or read English Eh”? Don’t worry the CCTV cameras are switched off. Wagon looks good.
Cheers, Leyland 600

Tolson Ireby
Hiya Paul, where Tolsons are located in Ireby “Lilac House” was where an Uncle and Aunt lived in the 50’s and I recall there was a big bit of ground behind which I assume will be Tolsons yard now. The last time I was up the West Coast to attend a family “do” I noticed that one of Tolsons Planers was parked up at Muncaster, do you do a bit for them when they are planing ? There is a firm in Kendal called Metcalf Bros who do the same work with an Identical machine. IIRC Tolsons came from T’penna when I lived in Ireby in the 50’s. And what is your fleet strength now with this latest addition, things must be good “Out West” eh! Cheers Dennis.
Got to keep this fine thread up front and centre ! “Hodge” must be on a big “all nighter” planing job “somewhere in The North” and his arse pocket will be full of readies from numerous sales of planings to Farmers “various”

It was a good lorry Lawrence but it had done a lot of work when I got it.ran it for 9 months it started with water trouble replaced everything but couldn’t stop it getting hot.set off for Windermere one day 10 minutes out of the sand quarry temp gauge started climbing I thought sod it kept going got to Windermere the noises it was making were terrible, tipped the sand give it time to cool a bit set off home.stopped at Ambleside filled it up with water out of the lake, the bl@@dy thing never used another drop of water till the day I sold it.but it was too late to keep it I had ordered a new scania and it was too late to cancel it.sold the leyland to a dealer in Derby he said it went to Barbados
Hi Hodgeturbo
This is a photo of most of the Constructors we had ( the livestock box is on a Freighter 16-15)
2 of them were 8 wheelers with the ■■■■■■■ and the rest were sixes with the TL11. the early sixes from 1984/85 had the Fuller then they started to fit the Spicer as standard. Personally I much preferred the Fuller.
The last one we bought would probably be the same spec as yours, E reg, 24-23 with the Spicer box.
At Truckfest Scotland last week there was a red E reg 6 wheeler constructor with TL11B engine, spicer box and what looked to be a brand new Aliweld insulated body on it.
