Anyhow is that a shot of an earlier motor Gordy had or is it an up to date one ? I can recall Gordy when he’d be about 9 or 10 riding shotgun in his Dad’s Ergo cabbed Albion Reiver when they ran out of Smith Bros.in 68/69.Lang time ago eh! Happy Days though! Cheers Dennis.
its the yan hes got now dennis, and its my ipad that’s putting them on sideways.well that’s my excuse
Tom, Its about three years or more since Jim Hope passed away a really nice guy, his main man Big Sandy Gordon (BIG S as he was known) was probably driving this DAF at the time died suddenly just over a year ago. I attended his funeral at Carlisle crematorium which was packed out with mourners some very funny tales were told during his service. There was a single wreath on his coffin in the shape of a big red letter S in roses with a green background identical to the logo on his pressure washing business vehicles after the foot and mouth outbreak in 2001. Both well known characters in ■■■■■■■■ haulage circles.
Cheers, Leyland 600.
Dennis, Speatyry might be a one horse town but Clinton in South Island New Zealand can beat it with three horses and proud of it. Its a lang drawn oot spot as weel.
Cheers Leyland 600.

I think I’m right Tom that the shot is of Mealsgate looking towards Wigton ? However,if I’m looking t’wrang way I can tell you that one of the road ends is the road a couple of mile or so long that leads to a nice pleasant village on the northern slopes of Skiddaw (nut Uldale owther!) and the other road end leads to a couple of rows of former Miners hovels
Couldn’t resist Tom !! But when would that shot have been taken and what was the navvy on with ? Keep em coming marra Great ! Cheers Dennis.
milkmantom:
