Larry, the only photo’s that have ever taken of me anywhere near a lorry have been
taken by “Kevmac” and Trev Hadley I’ve never been into photography and even when
I’ve tried to take photo’s nothing has appeared when I’ve had a go, really I should got
someone to operate the camera for me, I’m useless at modern technology because I
have zero interest, I should have “got trained up” when I first started as a driver I did
drive some very interesting old stuff and when much younger I drove some funny old
loads about but never thought about taking pics, I never had a camera in those days
and never gave doing a photographic record ever any thought, I can’t remember ever
seeing any driver taking pics but the amount of stuff generously portrayed on here by
other people and going back donkey’s years proves I must have had my eyes closed.

If some ■■■■■■■ has been giving “CG” some abuse via his e.mail then how come they got his e.mail address in the first place ? However,that is nowt to do with the TNUK members as the very mild banter that was directed at him on here could in no way be classed as “bullying”,do me a favour,when I was his age I was boring up and down the road on a Leyland Octopus as trailer mate and some of the things and “strokes” I heard and was exposed to were good copy for the old “News of The World” at the time.In comparison,being of similar age “CG” spots a few of “fast eddies” motors !! how can he be taken seriously by most of the members on the TN site,I ask you ?.I realise the site has been infected by posters of “the political correct” brigade but IMO they should ■■■■ off onto another PC correct site ( W.I. or Mothers Union maybe!).This is a site for “Old Time” salt of the earth Drivers who survived and grew up in what was the real world of hard work,long hours, and oh! sheeting and roping !! and not the era of “Steering wheel Jockeys and Curtain pullers” which obviously “CG” perceives as the future ( can’t blame him for that!) Now look 'ere “H” unless you turn up “togged up” with all the gear I’ve listed you,“as a member of joe public” will not be allowed within 100 yards of Paul and me shovelling 20ton of sand off the motor,as I know for a fact that his tipper has a burst hydraulic pipe and he can’t get get a replacement until next Wednesday which is why he has asked me to attend with my Orange “snow burner” shovel,otherwise he’d be there all day !! You seem obsessed by Eddie Stobart. Do not know much about your business nor do I want to, any there any reason you refer to Stobarts all the time?
It is not only CG that is being bullied I can see one or two others members being bullied. there is a big difference between bullying & banter. One of these days the so called hard men will meet one or two people who are a lot harder then they are.
You see the problem with the bewick mouthpiece is that he thinks anyone who drives for Stobart is a no hope ■■■■■■ with no life experience. He can’t grasp some of us had other jobs previous to becoming a steering wheel attendant. Apparently all drivers should have to rope and sheet every load.
I always wonder that in the good old glory days of bewick, did any of his contracts affect any of the smaller companies? I bet that nobody transported good previous to bewick transport. All those daft ■■■■■■■■■ sat there until the mighty one came along and then they thought "oh look a wagon. Maybe we can move stuff now. Hurray for bewick. "
He will come along and tell you how fast Eddie out him out of business with his fancy curtainside trailers. Begs the question why didn’t bewick see the change and follow suit?
Don’t get me wrong I respect the guy for his company and I can recall seeing his wagons as a boy, but I think him and a couple of others on here are as funny as heameroids.

Dear oh! dear we’ve got the wrong end of the stick again Lads regarding my previous post,there sure are some touchy buggers on TN.In order to clarify the point I was making was merely the comparison between “CG” “to-day” and me when I was his age can I further say.For the sake of neutrality lets assume “CG” spots W.H. Malcolm or Pollocks Scotrans so that is as close as he gets to the transport world as “a spotter”.Well at his age I was working anywhere from 70 and up to (sometimes) 100 hrs a week as a trailer mate and don’t get me wrong there was plenty of others in the job doing similar hours so I’m not blowing my own trumpet but merely stating how things were during that era.Can I also demolish another misconception,I have no axe to grind against “fast eddie” and never have had,they didn’t bother Bewick Transport ever,besides the fact that as we were mainly Paper hauliers and we used flat platforms and,dare I utter the words,sheets and ropes I wasn’t aware that “fast eddie” operated flats so that may account for our paths never crossing However we did start to build up our tautliner fleet quite considerably from the mid 80’s but still the last new flats joined the fleet in 1990 as a lot of our paper traffic still required flat platforms.With regard to my comment about Curtain Pullers and steering wheel jockeys well that seems to be about the kindest description from what I see to-day.To-days drivers can’t go to the toilet unless they ask permission and even VOSA take the view that a driver requires to be instructed how to secure a load inside a curtainsider.In my day load security was solely the responsibility of the driver and if it fell off into the road the driver got done ! The Ministry of Transport (as it was then) didn’t go about trying to tell drivers of yesteryear how to do their jobs ! Now can I refer you to “H”'s post and lets keep things light and not “take a powder” when the dreaded name of “the fast one” pops up eh!What a grand day,it’s sun shining here now what can I do ? Oh! I’ll drive up to the motorway bridge and start spotting anybodies motors but the “unmentionables” Cheers Bewick.

This Roy Cattleman can often be seen at shows etc with his models, he is a big fella, but one day he will meet someone harder then he is. Like I say I’ve seen him a few times, The banter he aims at various members on here is inappropiate, I don’t like him.
