Just wondering if anyone has heard anything from Culina about them recruiting drivers for their new site in the A57 at Port Salford? I believe the site is set to go live in April and their website said that interviews would likely to take place in December.
Just seeing if anyone has heard back so I can judge if I’ve missed the boat or not!
Welcome to TNUK, I’m sure it’s Culina dragging their heels probably especially as its not going live till April. Can’t help you I’m afraid but good luck they ain’t a bad bunch and the kit is good just keep your head down and be low maintenance and you’ll get on there fine I’m sure of it.
Thanks for the reply Bald bloke. I had look on another post about the Port Salford site at the back end of last year and saw you had replied, so good to see a reply from someone who knows knows their stuff.
The website says any 5 days in 7, so just waiting to see what they are offering as well as the salary package.
i applied when i heard about the job,not heard anything since even though they said they would be in touch, not too worried just yet, give them a few weeks and see what happens
3 days to be set at the start and end of February for interviews.
Top 50 applicants to get an interview.
They are looking for drivers who live no more than 30km from depot who have class1 experience, also drivers who are looking to earn basic salary of £28-30k pa,will be in that top 50.

I don’t get that, so if you are looking to earn £32k you won’t be in the top 50 ? My experience with Culina is that they are willing to take on a few newbies so anyone not long passing thier test i’d say give it a go you never know.

Find it strange as well, but just going on what I’ve been told by the assessor…
Interesting.
I’ve read a few threads on here regarding the pay at Culina. Are all there depots on the same pay structure? I’ve heard that you get paid whatever your basic is for 48 hours and if you go over then so be it- whatever you’re contracted to (most saying between £28k-£30k) is it, even if you go over? Is there any truth in this or is there an overtime rate?
Cheers

You’re salaried for a 48 hr week so if you go over that then you’ll get no extra pay but you take the rough with the smooth. Overtime is on your days off if you want it. Pay does vary slightly between depots but 30k is about average.
48hr a week contract,as has been said most depots on £30k
Any 5 out of 7 days to be worked.
If you do overtime you will get a minimum of 6hrs paid but no more than 10hrs.
Also if you take a days holiday in the week then work a Saturday/Sunday as overtime
It wouldn’t be classed as overtime, just one of your 5 days…
They have just made an O licence applications for 60 tractors and 120 trailers, does this mean more jobs or future expansion plans, anyway they at the starting grid!

Well after opening this post a few weeks ago it seems I have had some accurate replies from some very knowledgeable people.
I had a call from Culina on Friday asking if I was still interested and looking to go for one of the class 1 openings at Port Salford. As mentioned by members on here I got told that they are looking to conduct interviews in Feb and are looking to pay £30,500 on days and £32,500 on nights for a 48hr week (TBC). They did actually ask me what I wanted to earn so I went down the middle of what most of you are said on here and said around £30k.
Said they would be in touch in a couple of weeks to arrange an interview.
