Hey, does anybody on here work for Culina in Milton Keynes or Leighton Buzzard?
I see quite a few of their wagons around and that they are looking for drivers. Was just wondering are they any good to work for?
Cheers

What the ■■■■ has that got to do with anything when looking for a good, well paid job with decent hours?
I’ll be honest though, I wasn’t impressed with the Leighton Buzzard site when I went and got locked in the security hut because the handle had broke… been like that for ages apparently & it’s a fire exit And the yards a bit poxy.

Ah ok cheers, don’t supoose you know what the Milton Keynes depot is like as well do you?
I did a little digging around about them and they look like a good outfi, to work for, just wanted to know from in the inside if they are actually as hood as they look?
Whats the pay and shift patterns like?
Is it just into distribution depots they go to?
I saw something about tramping, do you get your own truck?
Any other info would be appreciated! Cheers!

Ah ok chees! Are good to work for out of Leighton Buzzard?
MK is a chilled site LB is an ambient site, MK is more 24/7 than LB both will have good kit to drive which is regularly updated, don’t know much about LB but MK probably will be 5 on 3 off you won’t be away all week and you won’t get your own truck I’m afraid.
Deliveries to all rdc’s are common plus maybe smaller places such as cash n carrys or catering suppliers etc.
Money will be the right side of 30k for a 48 hr week and if you’re good at keeping your head down and going about your daily job without causing aggro you’ll be left alone. Yes the trucks only go 85 kmh but that shouldn’t be a deal breaker although it is to some blithering idiot !!
why would you want to go faster?

Yeah, cheers.

Why would anyone want to turn a 10/11hour shift potentially into a 13+hour shift especially if you’re salaried■■?

Good God man you have a serious hang up about it don’t you, let’s have a look then shall we ? You drive 10 hrs at 90 kph that’s 900k in a day or you drive 10 hrs at 85 kph that’s 850k in a day which works out about 30 miles difference which means just over half an hour on your day ok. Take into account I was giving it best case scenario in reality it would probably work out an extra 15 minutes on your day tops and not the 3 years you were quoting.

Thats just the driving theoretically, how about delays getting to drops & collections, how about the nuisance, danger & delays caused to other road users…■■?

To get home at the end of the week I just made it tonight ,came out of London gateway and floored it when I could ( fri traffic/ roadworks etc ) ,if I was limited to 85 k I wouldn’t of made it , right on limit as it was .
That bit of extra speed also means I just managed to keep a 15 back for last shift ,which again got me home .
Also help me just make booking ,had a midday Poole the other day ,made it 11.54 ,wouldn’t of made it at 85 k,makes a big difference over 4 hrs driving .

Its a shame too many idiots don’t get this…[emoji15]
No matter what speed your set at there will always be people who want more to save a few minutes for that ‘urgent’ drop getting home etc. If we moved up to be with the coaches there would still be moaning on.

I get it, I just wouldn’t consider the speed limiter setting on the trucks a deal breaker if everything else about a job was good.
It’s almost as if you would walk out of your first day in job that’s on your doorstep paying £40k for 40hrs a week Mon-Fri of easy work, if thrown the keys to an Axor limited to 85kph.

I would, no point wasting each other’s time, I don’t believe in unicorns anyway…[emoji16]

Ignore PimpDaddy, he usually only ever posts rubbish such as this, either moaning about trucks being slow/limited or refusing to accept that their is a driver shortage of any sort of capacity.
Listen to BaldBloke - He actually works for Culina so knows what he is talking about, plus he actually posts relevant and helpful stuff to anyone that asks.
