UPDATED: A lorry driver has died after crashing outside a Tesco supermarket.
The 57-year-old man from the South Yorkshire area had been taken to hospital in a serious condition following the accident at about 5am this morning.
Police believe he may have been taken ill at the wheel before colliding with a kerb and hitting a road sign as he drove away from the store off Hilderthorpe Road, Bridlington.
An ambulance crew gave the driver first aid at the scene before taking him to Scarborough Hospital.
