Crash today M25

I wonder if the texel driver has had some sort of heart attack/illness? Look at his tyre marks no harsh braking then a massive left swing into the wall.

Only the 58 yr old german remains in police custody the polish man has been released.

You have to laugh at the Daily Mail, it say’s in the blog, " hundreds of motorists were trapped in their vehicles ", how were they trapped?, maybe stuck whilst the rescue services cleared up, but, " trapped "

Sapper

one of our drivers was invloved in the accident, he was comming off for Thurrock the traffic was stood on the slip road and a truck has slammed on behind him,hit him and pushed him forward then jacknifed and pushed that car into the wall that other truck has smashed into two cars pushing them into the Downton truck one going under the trailer then he has jacknifed. Two people in the car that is obliterated at the back of the Downton trailer walked away with injuries which has shocked me as i would have thought that loooking at the pictures they would be either dead or have life threatning injuries. The person who sadly lost his life was the one in the car crushed up against the wall. Our driver did’nt get back until 23:30 last night after the Police had done with him and one of our other drivers picked him up. the two drivers aressted are both from across the water. It has of course shocked him and it has upset him,he’s going to the doctors today as he is in pain with his back. It may be sometime he is back at work as the trucks were impounded and obviously two drivers are now looking at a court case for causeing death by dangerous driving and he will have to give evidence in court. What ■■■■■■ me off is that he now is not going to earn a wage and probably will only get sick pay all because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time! :imp: My thoughts are with the people who were seriously injured, the person who lost his life and all their familys. RIP.

Only the german. The Polish driver has been released without charge and being treated as a witness.

I would like to think it was no fault of the lorry drivers but sadly driver error on the part of a motorist :frowning:
Why do motorist not respect lorry drivers at the end of the day we are also car drivers.

They do not respect us because most of us drive in a manner with no regard for others safety.Everyday you see the majority of trucks traveling far too close to the vehicle in front. They leave no room for error and when something unexpected happens this is the result.
It will keep happening until something is done to get these selfish idiots off our roads.

I think youll find most truck drivers do leave a safe gap for error but when a car drivers see a space there little car will fit they will just pull into it not thinking it might take that 40T lorry now behind me longer to stop… that winds me up im not leaving a gap for you to pull into

You must drive on different roads from me then if you think they leave a safe gap.Your poor excuse of cars filling gaps just proves one thing about you.

Why are you such an angry man■■?

When lorries are involved car drivers stand very little chance regardless of who is at fault. Is it about time we considered a way of limiting the speed of lorries on motorways during certain hours. As we all know a car is easier to control when braking than an articulated lorry. Can anyone answer this question is it not possible to design a locking system so that at speed lorries could not jackknife under braking.

doesn’t surprise me. They pull out on you and they don’t let you off slip roads, but it’s not just lorry drivers everybody is selfish when it comes to driving now. There’d be less accidents if people kept their distance from the car in front and stared being courteous to other road users. OH and stop cutting each other up.

I have learnt through my life to no longer be amazed at the stupidity of people - and the comments section on newspaper websites used to be a source of much amazement.

You can almost see the retired major in a blazer (with regimental badge and ribbons) typing one fingered on his ancient pc seething with misplaced rage at something that has no bearing on his life.

Pimpdaddy:
The exact reason why you shouldn’t mess with trucks, hope lessons are learnt & hope the truck drivers are cleared…

THAT IS THE MOST STUPID OF ■■■■■■■ STATEMENTS I HAVE EVER READ I BET THE ANTI LORRY BRIGADE LOVE COMMENTS LIKE THAT
I have operated trucks and driven lorrys for the last 30 years and thats the sort of comments what gets us bad press
using the sheer size of your vehicle as a weapon

The young girl in the black a class was my daughters friend I was only speeking to her Friday she was on her way to work but sadly never got there and is now facing life changing injuries this has had a impact on lots of peoples lifes

Not sterotyping accidents on the M25 but its funny how the majority involve left hookers I run left hookers for many years and never had this maybe its driver standards who knows but lessons are never learnt .

You can only class it as being used as a weapon if intentionally used to collide with other road users to cause damage/injury/death, is this the case here■■? I doubt it, car driver in the wrong place @ the wrong time & not knowing how to deal with the situation at hand properly probably. Left hookers are a common feature in the UK road network-deal with it…!!!

Sorry to hear about your mate’s injuries…

The whole incident was caught very clearly on cctv and after speaking to someone who attended the scene and then saw the footage, he said it was horrific. :open_mouth:

Would you not prefer for justice to prevail and for the lorry drivers, if found to be responsible, to be punished accordingly for causing the death of another human being?

Oh no, of course you wouldn’t; you’re TruckNet’s biggest wet chin aren’t you?

Despite the popular belief, it is not “standard procedure” to arrest lorry drivers on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after every fatal collision.

They were arrested for a reason. I’m not saying they’re guilty, but there would have been a good reason for their arrests. There were three HGVs involved but only two arrests made, remember?

Now run along and play with your toy trucks, leave this discussion to the adults.

Left hookers are a common site on our road agreed accept it yes Not deal with it nothing we can do can deal with it
its just that most accidents on the M25 involve left hookers
And I dont mean ban left hand drive motors I never had a problem with them.

I think there is something we can all do about it, some of us just don’t want to, I think…

Someone even tries to blame the sun shining in peoples eyes rather than just admit it is idiots driving dangerously.PATHETIC.

Well, that saves the cost of an investigation then. You’ve cleared it all up - well done :unamused:
RIP to the deceased…

Why are you such an angry man■■?

Generally I am not an angry person but one thing that infuriates me is bad driving especially from so called professional drivers. You see them everyday tailgating traveling too close and just being generally aggressive towards other road users.
Also some of the dumb comments made by some on this forum. It’s no wonder we have such a bad reputation as drivers.
Blame everyone else but the lorry driver seems to be quite common on here.Truck drivers used to be known as knights of the road…sadly these days have long gone.

Albion - fair comment about the driving.
Rightly or wrongly I just resign myself to the fact that people are inherently daft. All you can do is do the best YOU can and hope others have the same mentality, which is not always as bad as I think you make out, regarding lorry drivers.

But I will agree stupidity is quite prevalent across all users on the roads, but when we make a mistake it can prove to have more severe consequences.

what a crass comment to make-how on earth do you know it wasnt one of the artics at fault?
what a load of ■■■■■■■■ you talk.
i came past the scene a while after it happened yesterday ,and about twenty or so people where standing on an overbridge very close to the scene watching and taking pics with their mobiles…
