Crash of the day

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Note the total professionalism of the driver of the truck though…

Stroke of luck for the driver as out of the whole Owens fleet this was the truck with a dash cam fitted on trial

smashing :arrow_right:

Needed 17 Second to stop from Moment of Car appearing on Camera till Film stops.
Say 56 mph = 90 km = 90000 Meter ÷ 3600 Seconds x 17 = 450 Meter.
Not exactly emergency Stop

Bloody hell

It was a controlled stop, right next to the SOS phone. :unamused:

Better to slam on though, eh? Especially in the wet. Might have got a good look at his trailer as it overtook him… or better still, caught a few flip flops out behind who were skinning up and watching tele.

Didn’t need to be :unamused: car on roof was way off hard shoulder and other was near central reservation! Why panic? Hazards, move left and stop! Don’t cause uneccesary further problems behind you.

Plus, probably pulling along all sorts of crap and debris under his wheels.

What can happen in a split second… :astonished: :open_mouth:

Physics doesn’t work like that. The truck isn’t doing 56 mph for 17 seconds before stopping immediately. That would vapourise the driver.

56 mph = 82 ft/sec.
Stopping distance at constant deceleration = (speed in ft/sec/2) x time in seconds

82/2 X 17 = 697 feet (212 metres).

That’s more like it. The truck would warp into another dimension, if Hawking is correct about these things eh? :stuck_out_tongue:
(Assuming that’s what these particles escaping black holes can do and consist of…)

That’s not a black hole that’s a German idea of a Sunday drive which just proves that you don’t need speed limits to keep it right side up. :smiling_imp:
