Quick question
Bottom One of the Two fell off today. Was dragging along the ground, looks like it’s been hit before and gradually worsen.
Am I still able To drive with just the upper one in place?
Still need to get back down south yet.

Excellent, I’ll start with the condesending questioning then…
Did you not check the vehicle properly before you drove it?
Or have we had a little accident?
P.S. If it’s not legal, should it be on the road? (My limited opinion/assumption is that it’s not road legal)
I gave it a proper check.
Gave it a wobble upper and lower, seemed sturdy.thias morning Wish I had hit something! Could explain it then! Haha
No doubt I’ll get blamed for it either way
What’s a crash bar? Don’t think I’ve been checking mine.
I’m assuming the side safety bars/rails…
(The ones cyclists are lobbying to make out of cushions! )
I check mine as I load, as I call them steps!
The bars that run along the side of the trailer
Impact bars
Safety bars
Side rails
What ever they are called I call crash bars
Get it fixed. It’s not just Vosa you’ve got to worry about it’s plod as well and a missing sideguard is blindingly obvious. It will be: “using a motor vehicle in dangerous condition M’lud”.
Ah, I see, why do container waggon’s have really short “crash bars” anyway
Panick:

Probably because they’d get crushed when you slide the trailer from 40ft to 20ft.
If it’s hanging on, strap it up as best you can and defect it (write milage next to it to show it happened on your shift) if it’s off up to you if you get a call out or drive it back. I’d personally drive it back without as long as it wasn’t a massive hazard.
