crappy nhs

yup, that bloody crappy N.H.S. eh, my mate was in PRIVATE hosp. (SMASHED RIBSetc etc)during the knight, in his well comfy private room he dropped his magazine on the floor, moved 2 retrieve it , rib shifted, pierced his lung (u can see where this is going)there were NO DOCS IN THE HOSP.!!! BY the time one was called in ,mate had died (27 Y.O.AGE) MORAL OFF STORY ? PERHAPS THEY DONT ALWAYS GET IT RIGHT 4 THE PATIENT, BUT HEY, THE BODY SURE IS COMPLICATED AND YOU DID LIVE TO RANT!!

as a young man (27) i have been suffering with severe back and leg pain for some years now after much debate decided to go for the microdiscectomy operation had the date for the op being today so here is the story got up at 6 to be at bath hospital (30 miles away) for 7:30 after seeing all the neccessary people including some very nice nusrses  and aneasthetist waited around finally got wheeled to theatre at 11:20 as arrived in aneasthetic room the surgeon decided he wanted to have another look at my shins as i had a graze then stood there for what felt like forever then turned to me and sorry but we cant proceed as the risk of infection was to high as any infection in the wound around the spinal cord can leave serious complications so then stuck 30 miles from home with no transport i now have to wait two weeks waiting for another pre op assesment then await another theatre slot lol sorry if i dragged on needed to vent some stress :smiling_imp:

You would have been ranting if you got an infection and lost your leg at the knee and ended up in a wheelchair or just arsing around :unamused:

my gripe is saw the graze early when i got there but waited near on 3 hours to change his mind

well finally had my operation on friday after another pre op on monday recevied a call on tues for the op on friday arived at the hospital at half seven barely sat down before going to theatre at half eight was back on th ward at twelve ish all went well physio got me up out of bed midday saturday got me walking as i did so well the nurses removed the catheter and canular and i was free lol then physio came back sunday morning it was stairs time all went extremally well and physio signed me off so then it was a chat with the docs and i was discharged sunday morning left for home at midday so now at home resting and taking things very easy and slow. as for the level of care from the nurses it was extremally excellant could not have asked for better nurses and the guys i was on the ward with all over fifty was such a cracking bunch as i felt uncomfartable due to being a lot younger but they made me fell welcome and so much more comfartable made may stay so great i didnt want to leave lol
