Blimey I don’t understand the problem I knew Cadbury’s was zb from the time I found Lindt in the early 1970’s. :smiling_imp: :open_mouth:

Are you saying you haven’t supported British jobs and infrastructure since the 70’s, and are partially responsible for our downfall? :open_mouth:

To be fair they’ve probably spent more on imports of Brit cars and trucks over those years than we’ve spent on imports of their chocolate. :bulb:

On a serious note, we ain’t touched anything cadbury since they went in for halal certification… in Oz anyway.

Is it me or is Cadburys chocolate bearly edible nowdays?,found myself chucking a small bar of this once wonderful product out the window last week, tasted bland and candle waxy to my discerning buds, hope the same fate doesn’t befall the still emperor of sweetmeats, the bounty.
I guess this is what happens when much loved, iconic uk brands fall into the talons of rapaclous yank corporations such as Kraft, purveyors of vile plastic cheese etc.even Holland and Barret have become the mcdonalds of health supplements now the Carlyle group is in control now.
Septic tank corporates are on a feeding frenzy at the moment, deeply perturbing.

Can’t beat Lidl fruit and nut and at 90p for a big bar a bargain.

Nip into Aldi they have a good selection of chocolate bars that taste good, bigger bars than Cadbury and cheaper.

Why not put in the bin?

And that’s why truck drivers are not welcome anywhere to park.

sans wrapper,m3 hard shoulder,biodegradable corvoid nosh,poor buggers

Pretty consistent with American ‘candy’…

Utterly [zb]… grim … vomitous.

Ironically i had a Hershey bar recently to see if it had changed,ie improved, from the soap bar i tried from a yank grunts ration pack, during a nato exercise in Germany, and tbh it ■■■■ well has improved, bloody good i godda say.

Best top notch choc has to be Callebout.the stuff made up at the factory in Banbury, used to take huge bags of the beans from there all over Italy in the mid nineties, regular visits to the staff canteen yielded a good supply of this wonderous concoction, espesh the pistachio variant,Impossible to find anywhere in blighty alas.

galaxy wins it for me,or anything from flipflop land from lidl or aldi is usually ticketyboo and well worth the dosh.a few years ago in Scotland, mars changed their name from mars bars to ambition bars when England was in the world cup for a while…that was the last mars bar sold north of the border raw,or fried till they changed it back again…

If you want chocolate try Lidl or Aldi. There was a long thread on here about wagon wheels,it was eventually agreed that over the years our hands have gotten bigger and the said wagon wheels only look smaller in comparison…

I thought wagon wheels looked smaller cos theyare alll low profiles now!

Gotta go with the suggestion of Lindt, Their 98% pure is great, but for my money the dark chocolate with red chilli is simply excellent. With a flavour like that, (and being cocoa not fat/padding) you don`t need fistfuls of it, so not fattening either.

+1

I do like a cadburys creme egg though (nibble the tip and lick out the sweet creamy centre), over the years the pleasure has stayed pretty constant, finger of fudges have changed a lot though since I was a nipper.

DD, sometimes I think your comedy talent is wasted on this lot

I stopped buying Cadbury’s (which I love) when it was announced that under their new ownership they had paid no corporation tax on their £95 million profit. Also, my daughter bought me a Cadbury’s Easter egg which had “produced under licence from Cadbury”

eagerbeaver:
Do you prefer 4 fingers, or two Pete?

Four for sure, two just ain’t worth all the hassle of unwrapping it! Cadburys Dairy Milk is my favourite, haven’t had any for a few years though. All the foreign stuff tastes rubbish to me especially that which those Belgians and Swiss inflict on us.:unamused: If we come out of the EU we might just be saved from any more of it!

Pete.
