CRACK ON TO MACON:
well in answer to your questions Bobby Brown was never a wrestler to
my knowledge if thats a serious question, and if your trying to be funny it did not work.

don’t think he was being funny - there was a bloke did the middle east years ago called Bobby Brown and he was a professional wrestler prior to that, calm down man! :unamused:

Thanks for that jj
that was about 1988 mind Bob used to have a very nice blue 141 bringing in paper from Germany through uniex

Tommy Caines ?
& Another little geezer that used to stutter. Cant think of his name.

The only boy on Mckellars i recall who stuttered was Hurry up Harry (hence the nickname!) who must be into his 70’s now but is still on for Carr Brothers

Thats him . He did Swiss for years at the same time as Tommy Peak. Harry Ames . Its all coming back .Tom was on his last knockings with an Itie outfit with swap body wagon & drags doing change-overs with the Italian mob ; they ran out of Purfleet . Tommy passed away .Tommy was a workaholic. He drank too much workahol than was good for him.

did he do the drop bodies for hellmans in tamworth?

Was it Transporti Marini (Eurotrama) with the wagon & drags? They took the Hellman work from Mckellar when Danny from the office decamped there taking a few of the drivers with him! Didn`t go down too well with Ian!

It was a rag tag Italian outfit running out of Purfleet . There was some sort of connection with McK’s . The trucks had been run into the ground…bit vague but it was one of those 'around the clock ’ operations --Both clocks!!

It was Eurotrama, they’re still around but it’s all artics now, I did a few Chalon changeovers running out Friday night & back to Calais before 10pm Saturday, would’ve been a lot easier if the Chalon wasn’t the one followed by sur Soane.

Ronnie Evans was on there at the time, IIRC he was ex McKellar.

anyone remember tanker bill?

anyone remember tanker bill?

Yes!
In all the years I did the job I heard a lot about him,but only met up on one trip going in the same direction.we ran together through the Commie Bloc for a few days.
Great guy!
I know my mate Alan Jones knew him well.
Where is he now■■?

I was on SCA with Tanker Bill & kept in touch in later years but I haven’t heard anything about him for awhile now. Good bloke & he loathed the French for some reason ;maybe it was because of the years he drove for a Canadian company the crazy Cannuks could have given him grief ?

anyone remember tanker bill?

bill bailey, to give him his full title.

I believe his son Lloyd runs an Essex recovery company called Evean, possibly in Rainham
