Did my cpc ,last week, was told by the instructor if we like to come back after september 10th we can do it again, and it will last till 2024. Talked to one of are scottish drivers they were told they could not take it again till 2018 which is correct.
For once - and it’s hard to believe … the instructor is RIGHT!!!
35 hours of classroom training, on customer service skills for bus drivers end of August and the same again a fortnight later and the authorities are totally satisfied you’re all up to date with the theory and import new developments and legislation need for driving a large goods vehicle until 2024.
They then act all surprised when drivers complain they can’t see any advantage to classroom based training when they clearly can’t be bothered to even pretend to believe in it either.

+1. It really does show it up to be the money making scam that it is when you look at it like this.
For those with acquired rights - 35 hours in first week of Sept this year followed by 35 hours in third week of Sept this year gives a DQC expiry date of 09/09/2024 then the next 35 hours can be done in the first week of Sept 2024 so that is almost 10 years from Sept 2014 to Sept 2024 with no DCPC training !

No because they are not PCV commercial - seems daft when they can count as being so if going for D

With D1 101 on your licence and having completed 35 hours of dcpc all you need to do is to pass the DSA theory and practical tests
you may need a medical if not already got D prov on paper part of licence or have done a D4 within last few weeks before applying for D prov if not on paper part
On passing D you get a new DQC with both LGV & PCV on it - same expiry date of 09/09/2019
