By law should a driver of booked a day off holiday to then go in to work to do a module or am i right in saying if you went in to work to do the module on a Weekly rest day this is obviously other work surely?

I’m not sure why anyone would book a days holiday and then go to work. If you’re saying he booked a day off then went somewhere else for training, then you’re correct that it can’t be considered rest and would have to be recorded for the drivers hours regs and the RTD.

Wrong.

If he’s done it voluntarily then it doesn’t count as a working day as far as the regs go.

If the course is paid for by his company and they are making him go then its other work to be recorded. If paid for by himself then not classed as other work classed as rest and what you do on your rest is free to do what you want.

My mistake. I knew there was something in the regs about “fulfilling legal and regulatory obligations” having to be recorded as other work, but when I checked it only applies to the specific transport task you’re undertaking.

This ant regarding a other driver etc.
Im just asking as ive had my dcp card for 2 years as you had to do it when i did my training.So i may use a rest day to do a module soon as mine runs out in 2017 but may as well get it out the way etc.
