CPC with Prov Licence

Hi there,

I have had my provisional C licence since 1995. I am having issues in conflicts of information.

Can anyone please tell me if I need to take Mod 2 before learning to drive HGV?

Please advise with all info…

That means you already have LGV C1 with a pre 1997 licence so no need to do mod tests 2 + 4 but need 35 hours of attendance training some of which can be gained by doing the LGV practical course IF the provider has it approved

You could opt to do the two initial tests instead of the 35 hours but most would not

You probably know already but worth mentioning:

Is provisional still valid? Lot of years have passed since then and you may have reached 45 in which case another medical will be needed. If you were 21 when you got provisional you won’t be far off 45. :slight_smile:

Good point and agreed its still valid if under age 45
