Cpc, road haulage case study

Hello people, I sat cpc case study today (fri) in Leeds for the, fourth time, would really appreciate any feedback from any body else who sat the exam today. One of the questions concerned opening a new op centre in Fishguard and what type of I lic it would require ? I was nt so sure on the answer, any help on any of the questions appreciated, cheers.

i sat the same 1 today, think i messed it up as i calculated question 1 wrong & by the time i had put it right i had lost an hour so ended up rushing the rest to make sure i got at least some of the answeres required.
i put down that they would require a schedule 4 option,as the licence is already there under another company & but due to OCR buying them out & wanting to put extra vehicles in,it would take them over their margin allowed,so a major change of ‘o’ licence was required.

Sat mine today in Corby, found it quite hard going. It was my first attempt today, I managed to answer all the questions except half the last one, time ran out on me but hopefully I got enough points to scrape through. If not then I will just have to have another go. I hope I wont be judged on my spelling or handwritting or it will be a definate fail. I think the new depot in Fishgaurd needed a new licence as it was a new TM and a new company that needed a different type of o licence with more trucks than the original margin, probably wrong I will let you know when the results come through. If it was your fouth attempt did you have to sit the multiple choice this morning?

Hi, I too sat it today, I also put that fishguards needs a new op licence, new cpc holder, increase in the vehicle fleet size and also that their current licence for Bristol won’t cover Wales. Found it quite hard especially the last one about European journey just wrote saying increase cost due to better vehicles, tolls permits. However believe I nailed the driver scheule nd costing so I worked out I only needed 9 point from all the rest to pass!

Hi, I know exactly what you mean, there was two questions that I had to scrub and restart, I went wrong on the driver schedule as I had him arrive 15 m late for embarkation but changed my times to have him disembark on time, so I’m hoping I’ll still get some marks for the Irish leg of the journey finishing at 20:30. With the op lic Q I put that it would require a new app as original did nt cover rep of Ireland and OCR s current was in wrong traffic area ■■? Still not sure, ? What amount did you get for funds available,? Think I put £28,000,■■? Going back to your answer I think you ve done the right thing there mate, rep of Eire isn’t classed as international is it, ■■

Thanks for your replies lads, steptoe, I managed to pass my mult choice in the June exam as did 5 of the other lads that I recognised yesterday, Jesus, I’ve made some good friends thru cpc training and tests ( that’s not good ). The question about increased costs incurred thru int work I thought I covered most of it, I put down euro tolls, ferry crossings, more nights out and subsistence, TIR carnets, cabotage permits,TAN permits… I only operate in the uk, so if any one can tell me if cabotage or tan does incurr extra costs please let me know… The whole cpc thing just seems like a money machine to me, but I’m positive I’m not the first on here to say this, but what can you do… Any more feedback greatly appreciated, thanks again to all who have replied… ■■■■■■■■, just remembered, I could have put down euro 6 engines, ■■■■■■■■ again, is it euro 7 ■■?

Do you when the results will be posted, forget to ask yesterday

6 to 8 weeks Steve. :open_mouth:

Cheers mate. Fingers cross

I have been going through the exam in my head thinking what I put down and weather it’s correct, I will probably wittier about it untill the results come through. What did you guys put on the drivers schedule for the time on the ferry, I put break time but I think I will get knocked for it because the scenario said cabins are booked on all ferries so I think he will expect me to have put it down as part of a split overnight rest period. Hope I don’t loose a mark for it.

Doh  See you at the next exam steptoe, I put it down as a break as well pal.

i put it down as split rest as it was 3 1/2 hrs on a boat with a couchette/cabin.you might ust lose 1 mark for that though…

Aye I put it down as split rest because with that and the the 9 hrs daily rest at the end put the end time to the same as the start time plus 24 hrs, so no need for a reduced daily rest.( bloody hell I learnt something!!)

Ah, well done Steve, go to the top o the class mate, I’ve learnt something as well, I’ll be in Leeds in three months sittin another ■■■■■■ exam!!

I can’t remember the exact figures but i think i made the truck arrive just on time for the embarkment but, I cant remember giving the driver a break and i think his total working time up until then added up to about 6.5 hours? Please, please someone tell me my memory is playing me  I know it’s been a while now but can anyone remember the first few pieces of information up until the embarkment? duration of vehicle checks, driving time, working time?

Best of luck guys, it took me two attempts for the case study

If anyone is able to post any sample questions (in detail) from cpc exams inc. case studies here, that would be really usefull.

I wish you all good luck guys.

Today, I have been informed that I passed multiple choice but failed case study. Question to Spacemonkeypg, did you use any extra training material for case study or just those which were in the book you send to me■■? ( by the way thanks for the book, it was very helpful). I am thinking to buy a book just for case study part!! Do you think it is doable or I should just stick with the information which is in the book. Thanks,

I stuck with the book, the only other thing i had was some print outs like drivers hours for dbl manning and alike to cross reference. Oh and lowes transport manager book which i have always had tbh
