CPC question

Hi guys sorry to be a pain if this has already been asked. Before I was lucky enough too get on the lorries I had the misfortune of driving buses which I did 3 modules of CPC now when I worked on the buses the guy who took us through it said it would also carry for HGV. I’ve done one module with the company where I’m at now (lorry). I’ve heard a rumour that I will have too do another four modules as the bus one isn’t carried on Lgv. I hope this makes sense! Sorry if I’m confusing people. I will be gutted if I have too do another four instead of one.

Thanks in advance too all those who can help me.

Initial CPC is seperate.

Periodic CPC counts for both.

Does this mean I’m alright?

If you have done 21 hours of PCV dcpc periodic and 7 hours of LGV dcpc periodic then you have 28 hours for both

Do you have both PCV & LGV on aquired/grandfather rights ?

Don’t have grandfather rights mate I’m 25. Been flapping like mad over this

OK gonna need the answer to a few questions to make sure I give you the right info …

When did you pass PCV D (or D1) ?
If after 09/09/2008 then have you passed initial PCV module 4 ?

When did you pass LGV C (or C1) ?
If after 09/09/2009 then have you passed initial LGV module 4 ?

When did you do the 21 hours of PCV periodic ?

When did you do the 7 hours of LGV periodic ?

Passed C 05/03/08 passed C+E 27/02/09 passed D 18/09/09 did the mod 4 same week as I passed by cat D. I did one module of bus CPC same week I passed my bus test the other two were done on 26/01/10 and 6/10/10. I did my first module of Lgv CPC on 06/02/12. I really appreciate your help

You have aquired/grandfather rights for LGV because you had a LGV category on your licence on 10/09/2009 so you are in the periodic LGV system

You did not have aquired/grandfather rights for PCV but passed initial PCV mod 4 so that then put you in the periodic system for PCV as well as for LGV

All 28 hours of the periodic training was done when in both LGV & PCV periodic systems

You should already have a DQC (driver cpc card) expiry dated ■■/09/2014 for PCV and 09/09/2014 for LGV = YES?

Conclusion = you need 7 more hours of periodic dcpc (LGV or PCV) before 09/09/2014

Yes I have my blue card mate. And I think I owe you a pint if our paths should ever cross. Thank you so much! I can sleep tonight
