A while ago there was going to be a protest and march to be held at Westminster feb 29th 2012 organized by another drivers forum
But it was called off
Im not going to comment on which forum or who or why
But been giving this some thought
Next year due to EU legislation it will be illegal for anyone to fix there own car
I have been thinking about hanging a Bannister over a bridge of the M25 and abseil off of the bridge during rush hour and thus closing that stretch of motorway down
I though about doing this kind of protest for the CPC
Then though it would be aimed at the wrong audience
But what about if I changed myself up in front of an oil Refinery with a banner stopping all the lorries coming in and out
There are 9 refineries in the UK
Fawley Southampton Refinery
Stanlow Refinery, North West England
Lindsey Oil Refinery
Humber Refinery
Pembroke Refinery
Coryton Refinery
Grangemouth Refinery
Milford Haven Refinery
Teesside Refinery
What do you think?

that you’re in need of professional help

Why illegal to fix your own car ? …
there is some legislation proposed about mending your own vehicle, but as far as I remember it was motor cycles only and even then only specific items.
This MAY help a bit

edited to add this which may be what he means
carrepairsrugby.co.uk/change … -servicing
What do I think? I think one man abseiling from a bridge or chained up outside a refinery will definitely get the CPC scrapped and definitely won’t get that man arrested. Do it.

This seems to be a good way of showing that 2 + 2 = 5, because you seem to have got the wrong end of the wrong stick.

Now it might just be me, but I’m struggling with the logic of this…
I can understand somebody chaining themselves up outside a refinery as a protest against the excessive profits by fuel companies, or chaining themselves up near the Treasury as a protest at excessive taxation, but what the heck does a fuel refinery have to do with the CPC ? ? ? ? ?

I think you might need a re-think.

Dont encourage him to rethink his plan, you will be implicated

Or even sliding down a banister
Maybe you should change yourself up outside each refinery simultaneously. (That means at the same time)

I think you ought to try and get your medication increased
I think that this industry is too diversified, too independant and too cut throat for any unified protest to ever work. It is one of the most dog eat dog industries with everyone vying in their sector to be the top dog and being ruthless to do so.
Public knowledge about the DCPC is virtually nil, so you can guess where the level of any public sympathy is, even if they didnt think we are the devil incarnate.
Chaining yourself outside a refinery will gain nil press, nil public sympathy and will only result in you getting cold, charged with a public order offence and possibly criminal damage and change precisely nothing - and thats the best outcome
good intention… but a very very bad idea

Well all that crap you have spouted is all well and good but are you backing him or not
It is support the bloke wants, not talk

Maybe not such a good idea then
What about if I changed myself around the building (blocking access to all staff who want to gain access) of the JAPUT office in Milton Keynes

Won’t they just go round you?
You need to make more of an impact. Why don’t you set yourself on fire outside the Houses of Parliament?

Just put your banister across the doors, that’ll keep them out.
