Hi All,
I currently work in the aviation industry but someone has asked if i would like to act as there transport manager in the haulage sector.
I was wondering how many hour study, typically does it take? Can I do it all from home just using the study book and practice questions?
Any help would be great,
David

An intensive course is around 8 days, it is an RSA level 3 exam and is the equivalent of taking an A level. You can certainly do it at home, and that would be a lot cheaper. I tried doing home study but didn’t have the self discipline to keep at it so ended up doing the course.
My experiences here (the course has changed since then, as the National and International modules are now combined).

I did it from home and averaged 2hrs a day for 3mths and passed, i am not a Driver but i have worked within the Fleet Industry for 13yrs so the base knowledge was there. I used the OCR home study pack (£150ish) from the RHA and downloaded VOSA’s various guides to hours, loading etc etc.
I found it quite easy because i have a real interest in the topic and am reasonably intelligent, i work as a Consultant in the IT Fleet Management Industry. I’m better with a computer than with a spanner thats for sure…
