I’m REALLY confused now…
I passed my car test in 95 so had C1, C1+E and B+E etc etc.
But passed my C in october and C+E 2 weeks ago.
So I had to do the theory test and hazard perception test before I could do my on road training and test.
The wording on the .gov website about mod 4 is a little bit ambiguous about mod 4 and grand father rights.
Do I have to do it before I can drive or do I have it under grandfather rights??

The system will not allow you to do initial dcpc modules because you are already in the dcpc periodic system by having acquired rights - any LGV category prior to 09/09/2009 so the C1 via the pre 1997 car licence will cover that
You now have until 09/09/2014 to complete 35 hours of periodic dcpc if you wish to drive commercially after that date
Can anyone help me on behalf of a mate with a question about CPC.
He has had a car licence since pre 1996 so has acquired rights. He is taking his class 2 in the next couple of months and then plans to look for driving work in 2015 as a change of career. Will he need to have his 35 hrs CPC before he starts driving or will he have 5 years from when he takes his class 2 to gain his 35 hrs.
Thanks,

Thanks,
To drive any LGV commercially after 09/09/2014 he will need a DQC - driver cpc card - so he will need to do all 35 hours to get that DQC
He can do the 35 hours now if he wishes because he already has a LGV C1
