CPC MODULE 2 revision guide HELP

Hey folks Ive got my CPC module 2 exam a week on Tuesday and Im trying to get as much information together as I can on what to really brush up on, Im currently reading The official DSA guide to driving goods vehicles which is good but a bit long winded in my opinion, and after a lot of internet searching Ive found this to be a real problem with a lot of people also I think the biggest problem is the lack of information in what to revise for so I wanted to ask people that have sat the exam or know about the exam to try and give some help for all of us about to sit it, the main thing I would like to know is the main topics of the questions I.e., weight height length and width restrictions, driving hours, diet, the reason I ask for this is someone told me one subject is types of companies something I never would have thought of he said he had questions on groupage, containerized, specialized, freight forwarding etc this is something that shocked me and I don’t want any shocks like this on the day I just want to be as prepared as I possibly can be so any information on topics to revise, types of questions anything like that would be fantastic thanks very much folks…

I took the test in August and passed by the skin of my teeth. It’s basically case studies, can’t remember how many, and you have to answer questions about WTD, driver hrs, weight limits and truck specific questions ( 1 is a concrete mixer and it asks you to click on certain parts ie the delivery chute or whatever it’s called!! As I said skin of my teeth) basically all the basics of truck driving plus regs etc. sorry if this is a bit vaugue but the test covers such a wide amount of topics.

I passed mine not so long ago, alot of it is easy theory based stuff. Make sure you know your company type and what each one delivers/specialises in as you’ve pointed out, I came a bit unstuck with these as I didn’t have a clue. Also know how to work out your payload and kerbside weight etc as I had a few of these. Listen carefully to any audio and take your time to read the questions, brush up on your theory, learn how to work out your weight/payload/kerbside weight etc and you cant go wrong. Oh and use your common sense lol.

Good luck with the test

Thanks guys if its theory based like you’ve said I should be fine as i 99 out of 100 on my theory test  thank again for the great advice

Hi passed my module 2 today!! I think the things you should look at are company types ie freight forwarding, containerised, groupage and specialised just research there meanings. And another thing is what documents you must carry when driving abroad!! and possibly driving hours!! I think the rest is common knowledge. Hope this helps

Thanks Dave and yes mate it all helps I will definitely look into the company types thanks again

Yay passed the module 2 I got 44 out of 50 was harder than I thought just wanted to say a big big thank you to everyone that took the time to share there knowledge and advice just my module 4 left and I’m done until next year then it’s my class 1 bring it on

Go on eBay and search for "case studies module 2 Cpc DVD " I believe it’s good so I have been told any way.

Hope this helps good luck
