Hi Everyone
Just joined the site been looking for some info and searching google like mad but can’t seem to find anywhere to do my
Drivers CPC in Suffolk. Ive had my cat c since sept 09 and passed my C+E June 2010. I passed both parts when I was in the Army and never done any kind of CPC.
I’ve been away travelling and now ready to start living back in the real world . So can anybody recommend anywhere near to Ipswich to complete this and also possibly my ADR.
Many thanks for any INFO
Welcome to the site.
Driver Hire in Ipswich do DCPC sessions.
Also Don Hunter Training Services do it.
Needham Logistics Training (Not far from Ipswich) do ADR Training. Look on their Training Page.
All found from 30 seconds on Google
I am not recommending any of the above. Just proving that a Google search is not entirely fruitless.
Hi have a look in here

Yep they are training providers but some may do CPC as a few in my area do
If you are looking for ADR ask Deiseldave ( a member on here ) sure he will answer al your questions as he is the Oracle on the subject

Hi Dogg9265,
Thanks for the info.
You’ll need to complete the initial DCPC, unless there’s some kind of exemption for guys such as yourself who passed the LGV tests in the military. I wouldn’t consider myself qualified to advise you on that particular point though.
Assuming there’s no exemption… normally… a person must first hold a DQC card for initial DCPC before any periodic training can be counted towards your 35hr requirement, so I’d hold off on an ADR course for now until you have your situation clarified.
An ADR course can count 7, 14, 21, or 28 hours towards your 35hr requirement, but this is NOT automatic.

I can offer you the following ADR providers in your area, but I’ve not had any dealings with any of them, so they’re in no particular order and you’ll have to ask the right questions about periodic DCPC and whether exam fees and VAT are included in any prices they quote.

ROG I passed my test on the 11th sept 2nd time I had my 1st test on the 9th sept, Now really wish I had passed 1st time, would be saving me alot of hassle.
Am I correct thinking that I need to complete MODS 2 and 4 before I am aloud to drive anywhere, Then I am able to do my 35 hours CPC to which I could use a ADR course to count towards 28 hours of it?.

You are correct
On passing mods 2 and then 4 you will get a DQC (driver cpc card) expiry dated for 5 years from the date of passing mod 4
So pass mod 4 on 02/02/2012 and the DQC will be expiry dated 01/02/2017
You will then have until 01/02/2017 in which to get 35 hours of periodic dcpc if you wish to continue driving commercially after that date

That’s exactly the thing that I’m not sure about.
Not all ADR providers offer 28hrs.
I’d say that most ADR providers have got 21hrs of their course approved by JAUPT.
The extra 7hrs would have to relate to the ADR tanker module, but the retention figures for the guys having completed Core, Packages and seven UN Classes aren’t usually enough to justify the ADR provider in going to the expense of registering the extra 7hrs with JAUPT for the few guys who stay back for the tanker module. This is an individual question for each provider to consider.

So if I am correct in my reading he has until the day before the card expires to do 35 hours of periodic training
Rog is spot on with this one
Thanks a lot Dave and ROG,
