I’m hoping to do a couple of the CPC modules over the next few months. I don’t think my place of work will put us through it until the very last minute and I would like to at least get started on this as I believe that as 2014 gets nearer, it will make drivers who have it more attractive to potential employers. Anyway, does anybody know of any good training providers which offer these modules in South Wales? I did take a look at the Wallace School of transport in London and I was told over the phone that this would be £100 for the Drivers Hours and Tachograph Module which on top of the travel seemed a bit much. Cheers.

Why does your company not put you through it now? Are they worried you might leave after it’s done? If you leave it to the last minute you might struggle getting booked in for it as lots of companies might do the same, surely if you worked for a good company they would have made plans for it by now?

Not sure how many…but I think there are around 150 drivers at our company. Not one of our drivers has started doing the course. I don’t think it will be a struggle getting booked in as I’ve been told that our company has had the TM trained up to deliver the course himself. I have asked him when will the deliver the course and he said he has no idea. I wouldn’t be suprised if they are concerned with drivers leaving after the course is done and they will probably leave it to the last minute. But I don’t really see me there until 2014 and that’s why I’m hoping to start doing it on my own. Foolish?

No not foolish because a good job might come along and you may want to apply for it but the nearer to Sept 2014 it becomes the less desireable you will be to some companies if you have no cpc.
