It can do as long as your trainer is register and uploads the hours, which normally requires a fee.
A block of 7 hours within a 24 hour period is needed, which can be split over 2 days as long as it’s within a 24 hour window.
So if I were to have lessons 10am-2pm mon-thur it would count as 2 sessions?
You potentially could have 14 hours to be uploaded. But, as said previously, the trainer and course have to be approved. Ask your trainer is the only advice for this.

Nearly correct! The second half has to start within 24 hours of the completion of the first half. eg you could finish one session at 1100 and start the second session at 1100 24hrs later. But it wont be completed until approx. 1500 which is well outside the 24 hr window.
