If the CPC scheme is all about raising driving standards why do so many of the companies running them advertise their services on traffic lights?
Maximum readership I guess - but don’t they risk lowering the professionalism of what the whole thing is meant to be about?
A traffic light should be a piece of safety equipment there to prevent accidents. Not a convenient pole for any Tom, ■■■■ or Harry to attach their advertising boards.
I don’t why anyone advertises on them - it is fly tipping in a legal point of view, but they leave the company name and address on the litter.
Not sure if the councils take it further, but I hope they do… they seem to spend enough time fining people throwing out cigarette butts, so this sort of litter should be an easy way to make targets.
One thing I have seen pop up a lot in silly places, is drivers direct adverts

Here’s a tip, if you ever break down and can get yourself going with just a few cable ties, you’ll always find some on a lamp post or set of traffic lights.
