If my CPC expires I obviously lose the right to drive commercially but do I need to sit the driving tests again or is it just a matter of doing the 35 hours when I want to drive again to be able to drive?
Of course you don’t need to retake your driving test…But it is just a matter of doing your 35hrs again like you say.

Unless you want to be really nice to the government and pay for the tests again…oh and the theory x 2 of course.
After trying to stay awake for the 35 hours it might seem like redoing your tests would be easier. 
The DCPC is an entitlement to drive commercially for payment. It has nothing to do with your driving licence categorys themselves
