Anyone else doing their operator cpc exam on Friday? How have you found the study notes and the sheer amount of info to take in?
Personally I’ve struggled to find both the time and the concentration to stick my head in the books. I’m making stupid mistakes on the case studies such as forgetting to include depreciation as a standing cost! I’m hoping we get one of the ‘easier’ exams!
Still a bit ■■■■■■ off that it now consists of national and international combined. As an operator who has no desire to do European work there’s far too much info about ferry crossings and permits etc etc.
Good luck to anyone taking it and post any revision tips/thoughts on the exam in here!
Matt
I got my booking in for the exam too late, so have to sit the September one now! Good luck for the exam, hope you get an easy one, but that the September one is even easier!

I’m booked for the euro on Friday but haven’t started reading it this time round yet, well about 10 pages in. I’ve a becks in my hand in the garden with the BBQ on the go…
3rd times the charm don’t you know, the guff makes my eyes bleed, may abort. Been operating here for nigh on a decade and just to drive on the other side of the road and remember to pay some tolls I’ve gotta read a folder 200 pages thick of BS?
Hi Matt
Theoretically - you should now be enjoying a few becks in celebration, hope it went well !!
I’m just awaiting arrival of several books so that I can start studying and preparing for hopefully a successful sitting, possibly in September - I reckon I have the time available to complete the requisite hours study. question is : not thought about booking an exam yet, did you book separately for your exam or part of a course ? if you booked your own - who with, where and how much ■■?
Got plenty of becks in

I’ve had a few pints of hobgoblin hopefully in celebration! I don’t know either way whether ill have passed or not. I am more confident with my performance on the case study rather than the multiple choice!
I did mine with Carmichael Training and Consultancy in Hull. Excellent course delivery by the MD Ian carmichael. The course was 8 days and obviously 1 day for the exam. Course cost was £800 + vat. However I actually booked through someone else so it probably be a bit cheaper booking direct. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone.
Matt.
