CPC done.

Thank ■■■■ for that.

Five days of my life over the last few months that i’ll never get back so a big sense of looking forward to receiving the little blue card in the post in the next few days.

If anyone needs an occasional part time weekend cat c driver in essex, let me know.

I’ve only got two days left to do of the 2019-2024 period - I enjoyed it all so much I got well ahead of myself!

How can you do that when training for that period cannot count until after 09/09/2014 assuming you have acquired rights

Dvla/dsa have recently changed the law - if you have D1-101 on your licence from pre-97, you can have D-category added to your CPC card, and can now start accruing hours towards the next session (19-24) as of last September.

I’ll post full details a bit later in, but all it takes is an email to them, and within a day you can start adding hours. So I’ve now got 21 hours, and when I do my ADR renewal in 5 years time, that’ll be the next session taken care of

And the point of this is?

The change in the law, or my post?

I can’t answer for the former, but the reason I posted was that in my case, and maybe others, I got 21 hours for the cost of the upload fee, rather than having to spend a further 3 days on top of a course that I already had to do.

Hope thus helps, and sorry to the op for the hijack

Gary

Thanks for reminding me as I had forgot about that one-off 6 year rule for both PCV & LGV acquired rights holders who can gain the 2019 to 2024 requirements from 09/09/2013 to 09/09/2019

What if…

I have already done my hours so have the card for five years but what if someone did not do any CPC training before 10-09-14? If they then did the five days they would then get a card. Would this cover them to 09-09-24? Or would it still only cover them to 9-9-19?

The easiest way to say this is ---- training for periodic dcpc will only count if within 5 years of the current or ghost expiry date on the DQC

The one-off 6 year exception to that rule was explained earlier

So Rog If I Understand your reply correctly. it would only get someone covered for the period to 2019.

thanks

Chris

If got acquired rights and not done any periodic dcpc by 09/09/2014 then the commercial driving of LGVs would be suspended until all 35 hours was completed

If that driver then completed all 35 hours on say 02/10/2014 a DQC would be issued with an expiry date of 01/10/2019

Thanks for clarifying that for me Rog.
