Its not a matter of approaching established companys, Shiply is a well known site, i merely listed a car to be moved and was approached by a Rogue operator, when i listed it i had a price in mind of what i would pay, and it was a lot more than i was quoted. But this is irrelevent, i merely asked a question and printed the response, a question i have been asked many times, and a question i have asked subcontractors many times,If it upsets you that i believe that as a operator who has never had an infringment etc etc, that those operating without the relevent licences should be reported and stopped from operating and forcing those who abide by the law out of business then i apologise, But our industry is on its knees and these operators make it worse.Like you my views on the police / vosa etc arent very high, but they are a evil neccesity, and while i pay my dues to Vosa then in my opinion they can do there job and make it a fair playing field for everyone. sorry i got the imression you were a self employed driver as per your user name.
As for the driver training, im not even going there as strangely enough i do agree with you
“This situation on sites like that is customer driven. If they can’t get it moved for the price they want they’ll either go on the train or not bother with the sale at all. These are not potential customers for a serious hire and reward operator and personally I wouldn’t want them either. If you wanted a legal and professional outfit you should have gone by recommendation or approached established operators it’s like buying something dirt cheap off ebay and finding it’s fake, then having a lengthy, and pointless willy-waving contest with the seller, posting it on a forum and reporting them to trading standards, why bother?”

Ok these sites are customer driven, but does that mean fred bloggs general public have to settle for rogue operators, and of course there are many proffessional operators on Shiply. Unless those who arent quite the ticket are reported then how are Shiply etc going to address the problem. You must also remember this operator wanted to move my goods, and as the customer i wanted to know they were safe, and on his own admission he was unlicensed to do so.
To many cowboy operators on both Uship and Ushippy… People claiming they can deliver a car either on a trailer or on the back of a recovery truck…weather they got the right insurance is questionable
Moving cars about is gonna be operators & tacho territory…ie hire or reward… but who’s to stop this bad practice…
