Cow lane reading

I’ve got to deliver a roadrailer to the Greatwestern train depot on cow lane in reading on monday morning.

A quick look at google maps shows that there are bridges on either side of the depot entrance so can anyone tell me what height these bridges are?.

Hopefully one of them is above 13’9" because if not it looks like I’ll be unloading in the road and running it in under it’s own steam.

Cheers

try google map streetview & you should be able to read the height on the sign attached to the bridge or the one approaching it

13, 6 one end where you have Salisbury Road of Cow lane. I could not work out the bridge eight from the other end but it did look higher the other side.

Find a level crossing and unload it there.

you will need to come in from the oxford a329 then take portman road ,then turn left into cow lane the bridge at the other end is far too low panel vans only.
sailsbury road is a dead end road and the jct of beresford road has a 6’ 6’ width
hope this helps

Northern bridge is only 10’ whereas the Southern one is 13’6

maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sourc … 82,0,-2.8

been in there a FAIR few times for Volker Rail, you come in from the bottom end, it is 13,6 in the middle, you wont be able to unload in the road as its too busy and dangerous, its a little rat run for the cars to miss out the main caversham road (I think it is?)
Plenty of room to turn around once in the depot too…

Be careful i live in Reading and those bridges are always in the news, gotta blame the drivers for not doing what all drivers are ment to do plan ahead, as you are doing

I would have thought coming in via Richfield Avenue would be best, as the other posters have said 13’6 is the max, maybe worth giving the company a call monday.
