I have my CV done already just gotta do a cover letter to go with it

The covering letter should never be more than a single sheet.

  • Say where you saw the ad, or if it is just “on spec.”
  • Try to include something particular to that company and job— If its multi-drop say that’s what you like to do, If nights out then you love them. If no nights out then you like to be home etc.
  • If your handwriting isn’t good then print it and just sign at the bottom. Check your spelling too just because it looks better.

Example:

Dear Sir,
I saw your advertisement for an HGV driver in the Daily Blurb today and I would like to apply for the job.

As you can see from my CV I have 40 years experience driving many kinds of vehicles all over the UK delivering all sorts of goods and I have a clean class C+E licence and a current digital tacho card.

I understand that your company mostly does multi-drop work delivering to local retail outlets and I believe that this would be ideal for me as I prefer to spend my nights at home.

Should you wish to contact me my mobile number is 999000999 and I am available to start immediately.

Yours sincerely

Joe Bloggs

  Although with that many years under your belt, you’d be very near retirement and wouldnt get the job anyway.

and i tried your mobile number and it says unobtainable
