Coventry haulage companies

Some great photo’s there Keith, love the Albion tractor unit.

Late 60s early 70s we used to load castings and Timkin Bearings off Applins at Dunchurch sometimes Arthur Applin himself would load us the forklift can only be described as having seen a lot o service and between trying to cope with his dodgy forklift and his alsation which allways ran beside him I can still hear him yet roaring at Yan the dog. I think one of his drivers was among the the first few drivers to be charged in the fog pileups at the time. He had a foreman/driver Roy I think his name was and his son in law was his mechanic he did a lot of stock car racing he had one in the workshop a V12 the exhaust pipes were all of 6" long I had the good fortune to hear it at full revs in the garage!!! which might explain the fact that I am as deaf as fencepost now. Eddie.
