We copy it because endorsements are only put onto your counterpart. You could come in with your card and still be banned and the company would have no idea. We copy them every time an agency driver comes in. However agency drivers who are on the rota ie know they are in for the next 2 months only need to show it every month.

The only way to check a driver ain’t banned, is to phone the DVLA. It’s been known for drivers to have 2 driving licences, one for points, the other to show a clean licence.
check point -it.good.but if drivers had long time countepart licence-clean.after he get some point ,DVLA sent him new counterpart licence with endorsement.realy he get 2 licence, and drivers can show you old clean licence.>■■?we live in digital, internet centure, for full safety must untroduces some internet licence check

I know some people have 2 copy but when you go into work you should sign something to say you are legal to drive that day you should also sign and date the copy of the licence each time you go in. There is only so much a company can do to check you are legal to drive if they can prove that they have done all they can they have covered their arse .

The revision number is what the office bods need to keep an eye out for, Im currently on #12 Keeping the counterpart in good condition is easy,do what I did, go get yourself a clear PVC zip lock document wallet, one of those made out of thick plastic similar to a clear pencil case. Shove the counterpart in there and staple it shut, the office staff can read it, and even photocopy it while its inside. But don
t need to remove it, so keeping it intact & unsoiled. Only occasionally did I ever have to extract it for the periodic licence check done by an agency. Then that was only a rare occasion as even the agency staff couldn`t be bothered to struggle and break a nail trying to get the staples out. I also keep my ADR licence with it, which is tucked in on the back side if my counter part where theres no relivant info for the clerks to read

How often do your own drivers have to show their licences??
Why is an agency driver any different? It’s something I’ve never understood.
I work at places where you must show your licence everytime there’s a break in you working there, so if you work monday, wed, thu, fri, you’d show and copy it on monday and wednesday, but not thu or fri… Pretty sure it’s as easy to get banned on wed night as it is on mon or tue night?
As others have said, it’s down to us to SIGN a declaration to say we’re legal, the agency should keep on top of licence checks preferably over phone to dvla, the company should get a driver to come in and drive, maybe ask for plastic part of licence to id the driver they’re expecting.
I have to show mine every day at the same place, strange to say the least.
How long does it take to get an endorsement put in the counterpart anyways?
If you flash the licence on a monday, get busted for doing 65 downhill through a village on tuesday ( ) and then turn up at any firm for duty on Wednesday, then are you (a) going to be in a jail cell, (b) have your licence confiscated on the spot by VOSA at the scene, and instantly updated at DVLA before any court case?
In any case, I can’t see how any endorsements are actually going to go on that bit of paper any time quickly.
Do we get a credit report free from expierion and some paperwork from companies house every time WE go to work for a “new firm”?
This would be quite useful for Self-Employed contractors worried about not being paid 3-4 weeks down the line wouldn’t it?

It took the Fiscals office 30 seconds to endorse my licence, when I paid the fine, in person.
But I guess if posted to the Courts then it takes longer 21 days probably.
So, if you get “Endorsed on the spot”, this would involve updating the computer at DVLA, but what I’m asking is that when and how does the paper licence forcibly get updated?
Are you obliged to send it off in the post, and they send one back with the endorsement on, or do they send a new one, and you’re trusted to destroy the out-of-date but showing clean old one?

So, let’s say you’ve got 3 points for speeding, they send off your counterpart to have points written on??
And if so, does that mean you then can’t work for these hitlers until your licence comes back?
Nobody has answered yet why it’s different for agency drivers compared to full time staff■■?
Little hitlers I say, just like flexing their muscles

In my case my counterpart was written on there and then, with the endorsement at the Fiscals office, they then update the DVLA.

Here in Scotland your licence and fine payment can be posted to any court.
and they will endorse your licence, then return it to you. You are not obligated to post it,
you can do this in person at a court or Fiscals office.
I would assume the process in is similar in England and Wales for magistrates courts.
The DVLA have no power to convict you of an offence, only a court can do that.
Don’t forget that as agency, once you’ve worked at the place before, then in future all licence checks will be done AFTER you’ve booked on, rather than before. Since you’re being paid by the hour, they can ask everyone to read the noticeboard carefully, fill out this paperwork, or even watch “this H&S video” - and no one should care, 'cos they’re being paid right?
The “Olympic system” seems to have full timers being required to carry their licences and counterparts around with them all the time like agency at the moment. (SL)

I know what you mean Winseer, but that’s not stopping the counterpart falling to bits
