Seen a lad cycling on the m5 near Taunton only about 2 weeks ago and he didn’t seemed phased by it.
No more dangerous than A-roads with drivers attitudes these days

Haha thats nothing unusual for that stretch. I used to cycle it quite often but at least I’d always be going a bit faster than a blader. Mind you, the only traffic that I ever had problems with were car drivers 
I cycled over the Forth Bridge and followed the motorway to near Kinross about 30 years ago.I used the hard shoulder of course.

Was it the Commonwealth games in Manchester a couple of years ago? There was a couple of cyclists from one of the former British colonies in Africa, think it might have been Nigeria, can’t remenber specifically.
They were stopped by the police on the M61 past the services that’s now Bolton North. They’d come a few miles from their starting point on the A580 and then the M61 oblivious to any danger.
