Could you cope with no mobile phone?

 It may harm our defence if we fail to mention…:grimacing:

what about the feeling you get when you suddenely realise you have left it on the coffe table at home for all to look through i.e. the misses, oooppps

I could cope without having the work mobile. :open_mouth: :smiling_imp:
I couldn’t cope without having my own mobile.

anyone remember the tokens or “gettones” that you used for Italian payphones.

They cost 200 lire each and could be used as legal tender in shops etc.

they could only be put into the payphone a certain way due to different grooves on either side.

if you were lucky you could get about 30 seconds into a conversation with the boss back in UK before you dropped the next token coz you’d tried to put it in the wrong way

Doing agency work you often get asked to give the transport manager your mobile number and I often refuse telling them I have no mobile with me. If they need me they have my drops leave a message and I’ll get back to them. The worst ones are the ones you give you mobile number too then they expect you to use your allowance to call them back. If I do the cost of the call goes on the time sheet and when they see it costs them at least 50p for every call no matter how short they soon sort a spare phone out for me.

I really like being without a mobile when working for a company as you can just get on with what you have to do without someone messing about with your day and re routing you to a more “urgent” drop just because they rang up and whined to sales.

The thing that really annoys me is cab phones that only allow you to ring the office. Just monitor the calls made for each phone and tell the drivers that they are strictly business any personal calls will be charged. It just takes ages to sort out any problems such as not being able to find a drop. A quick 30 second call to the delivery and they can steer you right. However you call the office they call the drop and try to relay your position then 30 minutes later they call you back with a rough idea. Surely it is more cost effective to just spend £20 a month on calls.

I remember it well I used to know a ■■■■■■■■ who carried the thing with him every where, he would just sit there itching for it to ring.

An old boss had one, we nicknamed him Buzby. The phone disappeared, but the name stuck.

This is similar to my first original phone.
